Hi,
Have been using Astroart for image processing - version 7. Decided to have a play with it's acquisition module (nothing better to do with all the clouds in Geelong). Found that the temperature control runs away and will not stop cooling at any set point. Happens with both my QHY9 and ASI071MCPRO.In addition, it will not connect to my QHY5L11, gets a camera not found error. All these cameras work perfectly in any other software I have....
Have installed AA's accom plugin etc....
Any ideas?

Gary,
As you know I use AA7 for my spectroscopy.
I regularly (!!?) use an ATiK314L+ for image acquisition using the ASCOM drivers. I also on occasions use the ATiK native driver.
So far, touch wood, I haven't experience any cooling problems (down to -10 deg) with either driver.
Does re-installing the drivers make any difference?
I'm using AA7 Camera Control V7 and the ASCOM V2.1
(I checked the AstroArt forum - no other similar reports....)

Hi Merlin,
I've tried multiple reinstalls of drivers etc. It's got me tossed, everything works in the following software list:
MaximDL 5.24
Nebulosity
Voyager
Sequence Generator Pro
PHD2
Sharpcap Pro.
It is only Astroart 7 that I'm having issues with. I've never actually used it for image capture, (mostly used it for calibration due to it's super speed) just thought I'd have a play due to the weather.
I'm using it on a Thinkpad laptop that's only 5 months old, Windows 10 Pro etc. No crazy stuff on it. Have never struck this issue with anything before.
I posted on the Astroart Forum, but my post is "awaiting moderator approval" so no replies there yet.
I could perhaps understand it if only one of the cameras exhibited the problems, but when I get both a QHY and an ASI going crazy, and with only one program, I have to suspect that program...

Gary,
Don't know.....
Do you use the same ASCOM (V2.1) drivers in the other software?
ASCOM is controlling the camera inteface, not AA7.

Ken,
the ASCOM 2.1 is an Astroart plugin, it is the only software that uses it. All the other programs use their own interface to Ascom.
I guess I'll await a reply from the developer after my post is approved...

Gary,
No I don't think so.....see the notes (this is for ATiK cameras):
MaxIm Plugin:
The MaxIm plugin has been removed from the installer. It is recommended that you use ASCOM instead.
AstroArt Plugin:
The AstroArt plugin has been removed from the installer. It is recommended that you use ASCOM instead.
To me it appears the ASCOM is a generic package (based on ASCOM 6.4 release) used by many different acquisition software??????
(When you select ASCOM as the camera driver and your camera on the pop up, what features of the camera show up??)

Ken,
I am using all the normal Ascom drivers that work with other programs. The Astroart 2.1 plugin is a pair of .dll's that allows Astroart to talk to Ascom drivers, ithey are not in themselves a driver. If remove the .dll's , Astroart can no longer see the normal Ascom drivers.

Gary,
I see that Fabio is addressing your problem.
Hope it gets resolved.
