Hi everyone,
After compromising with my wife about a rolloff shed due to taking some of our our view, and not considering the dome idea for similar reasons along with not wanting to attract unwanted attention, we agreed on this shed design which certainly will compliment my current visual gear along with my astrophotography gear that is on order as per my signature below.
Starting with a bare wall, then noting our northern horizon with corner on the left being where the ROR was being considered initially. Construction from start to finish from framing, fully insulating apart from back wall before I painted the doors.
Finally showing inside the 3m wide x 1.5m deep x 2.1m high shed with LED strip lighting enabling white light along with astronomy friendly RED as well as many other colours controlled by a remote control. I have ordered 2 small USB fans to circulate air throughout when looked up.
This shed has resurrected my hobby with its barn style opening doors, as I was seriously considering selling my big heavy 72kg 14" dob due to my repeated unsuccessful attempts over the years to mobilize the mount effectively, and the awkwardness of the previous shed, which was a regular colourbond garden shed with sliding doors. I rebuilt the old shed downstairs as my wife's garden shed.
A friend with welding and carpentry skills has agreed to help me build 2 dollies for the dob and the CGX mount when it gets here which will allow the easy rolling to and from the shed from basic plans we have drawn up and I will post the progress for those that might be interested.
Any suggestions for further improvements would be welcomed.
Thanks Scott
