Hi again,
I have always been happy with how deepskystacker manages to stack my images....but for the last few weeks it won`t stack anything correctly!!
Even 2 frames that you can drop right on top of another with no rotation or other variations yet it will rotate it and have a crap image. :mad2:
I have uninstalled and reinstalled and changed every setting possible yet still it won`t even stack 2 frames right!!! and rotates every frame...
Maybe there is corruption with the registry settings.
Anyone have similar probs or can help?
Cheers Gary...

I have had no worries with it:) ..it is one of the few programs that works pretty well the way you expect:thumbsup: . Are you using different size (or images different in any way) in your selection? Images you have altered maybe.. Hope its you and not the program:) .

I tried DeepSkyStacker a while back and I recall a similar problem to yours. I never worked out what the problem was though. I got rid of it and now use IRIS instead.

yep it does Mike...
There is a new version out now, maybe d/l that if you havent done so already...
My only problem is when I stack the images in RAW they turn out black and white and when its finished stacking the image looks very light grey.... havent found out how to do coloured RAW images, or even TIFFs at that.

Thanks for the replies everyone,
Alexander, all the images are the same...raw from the camera with no changes, I have been happy with the program as have been using it for the last 6 months without a prob...only recently its gone a bit crazy?
I have been using the file>save file>convert and save file> do not convert setting in the canon file viewer utility, maybe thats a problem? I used to just copy the raws into a folder for processing and stacking..
I shall give it a go now.
Cheers

Straight from the camera raws...still no go!! I don`t know why it rotates frames that are perfectly ok?
Tried a few images in registax 3 and it had no probs stacking them. (converted to 8 bit tiffs)
Driving me nuts!!!
