MOV to AVI converter

Hi to all
Thinking of taking some moon shots.
I wish to convert my Canon 5D MOV files to AVI so they can be stacked in Registax etc. Any thoughts on a suitable piece of software to do the conversion I don't mind paying for it.
Maybe there is a stacking programme that can use MOV files.
No doubt this has been covered before.

For stacking, it is Autostakkert.

Great idea. I didn’t know you could take a movie in one format, convert it to AVI and stack it. Good to know!

I followed your advice and will now use PIPP and Registax.

I'd go autostakkert to do the stacking....registax is good for sharpening
But I could never get it to stack properly. Autostakkert is faster too.
