View Full Version here: : Kaspersky Anti Virus has died, some assistance please
Hi Guys I have Kaspersky anti virus on my desktop, and it has been fine for a month or two since it was automatically renewed.
Now the Icon on the Desktop has turned red and will not function at all.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Avast is well respected as far as free Antivirus goes. Never has an issue with itMarkus

Leon a new activation code is likely required
Kaspersky does not automatically reactivate itself
Check the expiration date in the settings

To be honest I would sooner have no antivirus than Kaspersky, I tried it once and it was a nightmare. It was worse than useless.:mad2:

Col....
Rob it does actually I have the print out and each two years it makes an auto renewal and gives notice when the money will be taken out of my account.
It all went very smoothly for a couple of months but for some reason has stopped working properly and to try and contact them is a different story, virtually impossible.
Anyway I will see how i go, thanks for your responses.
Leon
Thanks Col.

Leon a guy I know has it on his computer and it is giving him all sorts of grief, keeps losing its license and asking him to renew, and he is so dumb it kept auto renewing 23 times before he finally tweaked something was amiss, took a real crapfight to get his money back through paypal. Seriously there are so much better antivirus's out there that do not try to shaft you. It may have been ok once, but I sure as hell do not know of when that was, have heard so many horror stories about it. Why would one persist:screwy:
OK i hear you guys i will delete it and take a small lose and move on what do you guys reckon would do the trick for some one like me who only looks up the weather and talk to you guys, and occasionally look up some stuff.

Just use the free Microsoft anti-virus, Leon. The price is right and it performs adequately (none of the AV products are perfect.)
Cheers,
Rick.
Thanks Rick, will look at that one.

+1 for Avast, I've been using the free version for years no problems and no virus's. You only have to pay if you want the extra security features such as vpn.
Rick
Just to add to this.
I have been wondering and searching why Kaspersky is not opening, and have found that it has been turned off.
So I click on the Kaspersky program in the security settings and it asks if i want to turn it on, well I click Turn On.
A window opens and asks if i want to let this program change things on my computer, I say yes , and that is as far as it goes.
Nothing actually happens, so I dig a little deeper and find all the security setting, and yes, it is turned off, and every thing else is OK but I cant turn it back on
So how dose one do this, is there another method maybe.
Thanks in advance.
Leon

I have been using Eset for years, never had an issue with it, and it is virtually invisible, it just works:thumbsup:
