Does anyone know the QE of the Canon EOS chips ? It'd be interesting to compare to that of SBIG CCD's.
Thanks,
Roger.
This is so hard to find, countless people have attempted and tried to obtain.
There has been some figures given, but not 100% verified by any data from the manufacturer.
Figures of QE's as high as 40% for the 5D, which is pretty good, as it loses 20% in the debayer process, so really around 70% if it was mono.
QE's of 30% for the 300's and 350's, and the 20D up to about 40% as well.
Like i said take it with a grain of salt, these are not verified, but overall from many many peoples averages.
Again, they lose 20% in the debayer process, and show just how much closer CMOS is comming to compete with Astro cameras.
But its got a long way to match this http://www.fairchildimaging.com/products/fpa/ccd/area/ccd_595.htm
Oh my GOD, OH MY GOD !, just need a way to fit it inside a LPI !.
