Hello good people, I'm currently using Deepsky software to log my observations, I've been using it for years and am rather fond of it, however, Deepsky is no longer being developed and though it still runs well on Windows Ten there will come a time when it will cease to work.

I have been looking for other alternatives and so far Skytools looks like one of the best out there even if it is a bit pricey. There doesn't seem to be a free trial for Skytools so I would appreciate your opinions if you use this software.

Thanks in advance
Malcolm

Sorry, not a user yet of any and only at the beginning of visual observing. But I'm thinking of going into the crowd so my data might help others and I can benefit from theirs: https://www.deepskylog.org/index.php?indexAction=result_select ed_observations&myLanguages=true&catalog=%&minyear=2017&minmonth=11&minday=23&newobservations=true
Here's a feature overview https://github.com/DeepskyLog/DeepskyLog/wiki/What's-New-in-DeepskyLog

They also have an import function for exports from other software.

Thank you Ken and Annette, I'll certainly be looking at these options, I notice that Astroplanner is only US$45 and Deepskylog is free. Deepskylog looks interesting and I now realise that Skysafari 6 supports it. I would still like a decent logging app on my computer though so I'll definitely try out Astroplanner as well as Deepskylog.

Thank's once again.
