I just spoke to Mike. The weather is perfect. Not a cloud in the sky. Perfect seeing.

Everybody there drove to the top of the hill to see the comet. Mike was trying to describe the comet but he was so excited he couldn't get the words out to describe how great it looked. (In all these years I've never known him to be lost for words, so it must have been good viewing! :))

They'll be doing it again tomorrow night (goes without saying really), which for the first part of the night, will most likely see 140+ people looking west.

Anyway, that's all I could get from him with the bad mobile reception at Lostock. The first day of IISAC 2007 hasn't disappointed, it seems!

Thanks Terry - it’s great to hear the good news that the IIS boys and girls are enjoying the comet, clear skies and a great camp. Can’t wait for the camp tales and piccies on their return to the forum.

Cheers

SMS at 4:39am... They'll try to use Bird's wireless CDMA to get internet access today. I don't know what their chances are of getting a stable connection for long enough to send anything but I'd like to see what Mike was trying to describe :)

I just arrived home from Lostock.
Yes Mike was totally awestruck. Speechless!, well almost.
He said that it was the most spectacular sight that he had ever seen.
I agree with him.
And there are some fabulous photos coming up, I saw a few, and they were breathtaking.

Mike.
