SGP and DSLR - exposure time not working properly

Hi all! please help!!!!!
Today i just started using SGP with my canon eos 700d.
When i trigger a 5 minute shot via SGP, the dslr only takes a 3 second shot and then waits for the next trigger.
BYEOS works fine.
Please help!

UPDATE:
Had mirror lock on. it thought the trigger for mirror lock was the actual exposure.
