skype and w'7 problem

Some time ago I wanted to upgrade Skype version on my w'7 (home edition) lap... and I couldn't remove the old version, couldn't install the new one (installer complains and says that old version is still there and that I don't have access (I am admin !?) to some HOTKEY keys... and now I am left without skype....

I tried all MS recommended procedures... and no joy.

Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

personally I use Viber, much the same as Skype but not owned by MS, give it a go works pretty much the same.

Hi Keith,
Thank you for the suggestion.. however all my contacts are using Skype... so I guess I have no choice here :shrug:

And, in any case, I want to wipe out Skype from my lap.
