Howdy,

I'm after advice from those who have setup a remote observatory on the best methods for cable management between the pier and telescope. Should I use through the mount cabling (Astrophysics mount) or bundle the cable in loop outside the mount?

Pics of your installations would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

DT

David my remote only extends as far as the backyard but take full advantage of the AP and run thru the mount. I've had mine that way a few years now and never have to give the cables a second thought no matter where the scope points.

My 'umbilical' hangs of the rear of the SCT in a loop which keeps it well away from the mount. Having said that, if I had a through the mount option I would certainly be using that!

Thanks Gents,

Through the mount certainly seems to be the way to go.
