AstroArt V6 for guiding?

Any other members using AA6 for guiding and image acquisition?
Interested in your feedback/ comments.

(The new addition of the slit spectroscopy guider set-up seems to work great - ideal if you want to set (and re-set) a guide position at a nominated X-Y position in your frame)

Yep, only camera control, guiding, image calibration, preprocessing and along with PS, post processing software I have ever used, since 2003 :D...so I can't compare to anything else but I love it :thumbsup:

Thanks for the feedback.
I, like you, am a long time user of AA....
It certainly punches well above it's weight, and the developer Fabio listens to the users, hence the spectroscopy enhancement!

I also have Astroart 6. Used it when I had a OSC camera as it was very easy to use. However I stopped using it for acquisition when I went mono plus filter wheel. Having to use scripts to control is cumbersome when other software simply uses a few checkboxes. If the developers had an easy way to automate using filters etc I'd be back to it .....

In the meantime have you considered John's Observation Manager for AA6. Version 9.12a is now available.

Hi Ken,
I did have a try of the Obs Manager, but it was still complex. When I compare it with say Maxim where setting up a a sequence is simply a few drop downs and boxes, it was way too much effort. Scripting belongs to the dark ages:-) I like ease of use!

That being said, for one shot color, Astroart is the best and easiest to use I ever found. It is great and still lives on my laptop...
