I will have to give this a shot tonight, not sure if it is a matter of resolution but it looks like there is a lot of nebula detail loss in both versions. I am guessing that this is caused by the removal of those tiny little stars.

A mate of mine commented that it looks like the grim reaper. Now I can't get that visual out of my head, with some soul he's claiming bottom left, and the remaining stars in the brighter nebulosity being souls already collected.

Cheers mate. You mean in the brighter parts of the nebula? I noticed those after posting, but decided to leave for now since my comments above about grim reaper souls captured. Haha.
