Hi,

I am looking for a new widefield Eyepiece. I currently have a 35mm Panoptic which I enjoyed very much until I borrowed a 31mm Nagler :-)

I would love one of these, but there is no way I will ever be able to afford close to a thousand dollars on one unfortunately. Is there any eyepiece that comes close to it? I was thinking about the 30mm ES 82deg eyepieces,or perhaps the Meade UWA 30mm (ES clone?) but have no experience of them. Many people rate them as being close to the Nagler, however there is the odd report of them being a bit ordinary. Does anybody here have any experience with them?

Scopes are a C11 and a TSA120....

cheers
Gary

I asked the same question in a post "Advice on widefield eyepieces" and i bought a ES 30 82 and i am very happy with it,ES sale finishes today to let you know and you will be extremely lucky as it seems to get one used ,when people buy one they keep it,

I have both ES30 and N31T5. The Nagler is a "nose to a head" in front. Better edge, and colour rendition.

Use the ES30 when folks, other than me, are about. Nagler used in my personal observations.

Stephen.
