Received a fb message request today :

Of course we've all heard all the conspiracy theories and get a good laugh about this but this is just sad that it's affecting (supposedly) someone's health.

So, shall I feed the monster, or starve it? I got a feeling he's not going to take "there's no Planet X" for an answer.

It's a wind up - just ignore it!

And, if the doctor and psychologist can't help, what does he think an astro shop owner can do, lol.

Tell him the real date is the 31st of April!

I would advise you to leave well alone,
I would say this person is phishing and
could be malicious.
Cheers:thumbsup:

Well, I sold a ZWO camera to someone who wanted to find Planet X and/or aliens.

Fortunately I didn't hear from them again!

OK, easy enough to ignore fb messages...

Just hope they don't come looking for me at the shop! :screwy: :ship1:

I think you'll be safe enough. Just keep the door locked.

And how are other people supposed to come in to give me wads of cash in exchange for expensive mirrors and metal tubes? :P

Well if it's true he won't have much to worry about soon then....

Tell them it was yesterday, and we are actually all in heaven now.

Seize the moment.
Reply that you have the perfect scope for him.
Its a fact no one knows but keeping his own look out is the way to go cause the government are keeping quiet to avoid panic.

Sad and I really feel sorry for him but I bet my suggested responce will make him happy because above all humans need to believe in something, also if he is busy looking thr his new scope he will get tired and sleep which strangely may be just the solution to help him overcome his fears.
Ask for a deposit that will sort out if he is a scammer.

Associate with people who are happy and positive in life. It's better for your health.

Sad and amazing.
I suppose the easiest thing is to tell him you've prepaid for a scope that won't arrive for 6 months. That will give him confidence that either there's no problem or there's an end you aren't aware of.

 This is even better. There's a tut (http://zapatopi.net/afdb/build.html)on how to make your own. Wicked... and free for non commercial use. What's not to like? Step 7 is a riot.

Yeah I was kinda tempted to pitch him a scope or camera to find planets, just for kicks, but at the same time it's just sad.

Sad because I know close friends who struggle with paranoia, and to them the threat of *insert crazy event here* is very real and has very real consequences on their health. They normally would be logical people but paranoia makes them immune to reasoning and logic.

I never had an answer for my friend that would calm them down so I don't have an answer for this guy either!

And speak of the devil... Ashley got the same message too!

Conspiracy theorists are the worst... they prey on people like these.

Call it funny, sad, or stupid... there's just no dignified way out of this is there?!

Tell this person to go to Planet Y if Planet X is going to end.
PS: I don't think it was a serious message. Just somebody in need of attention or who wants to have a good laugh.
I don't think that somebody who really feels that way would message a stranger on FB anyway.
