Apple recalls MacBook, iPad, iPhone & iPod power adapters - electric shock risk

Hannah Francis writes that Apple has "instigated a massive international
recall of power point adapters across its range of portable devices after
a small number were found to have broken, causing risk of electric shock."

The whole replacement program is a joke!

Once I submitted my replacements it said to print out a label and take to the post office in which they will give you a pre-paid parcel.

There was no label on any of my 3 submissions!

I took a dozen of the duck heads to the Apple Store today and they gave me a dozen new, smaller ones. No problems at all, no paperwork.

I had never seen or even heard of those adapters coming apart, but I thought what the heck, a free replacement is a free replacement :)

Thanks for the "heads up" - I have two dodgy adapters, so it's off to the Apple store in Doncaster tomorrow.

The guy I spoke to said about a dozen world wide had cracked and caused fires.

Not something you'd want to step on, but I've never seen this in 13 years of using Apple power adapters.
