Is it just me or is anyone else frustrated with the trend to make websites convoluted and ineffcient.
My bank has recently updated it's web interface, (looks a bit like the equally lack lustre Win 8/10 interface) possibly with a view to making it mobile friendly, they have turned what was a decent interface in to a dogs breakfast, confusing, inefficient and difficult to navigate.

I visited Canon Australia today with a view to downloading any firmware changes and update software for my "black" camera collection. It was impossible to find anything on the Canon AU site, links to software and driver download simply ran in a loop, bringing the user back to a product selection area with no access to the appropriate download section. The US site was a little better but the list of software was incomplete and required entry of my camera S/N before download. I decided at that point to send some feedback via their feedback ling, no problem I thought and simply marked every category as unsatisfactory and filled in the comment field, pressed the send and wouldn't you know it an error, "There were problems with your comment card.
Please fill out the highlighted fields. ".
Apart from a handful of fields and a dropdown and comments area there is nothing else and certainly nothing highlighted.
Looks like they can't even get a simple feedback form working. :tasdevil:

Why would they want feedback?
They don't pretend to service the customer any more.
They just make profit for shareholders.

I've been hitting more stability issues with a number of websites lately. Despite my home PC being as up to date with patches and stuff there are several sites that crash IE or freeze it and other browsers.
There was also a big web outage in Europe yesterday, I believe a DOS attack on a couple of banks and govt systems in the UK.
And they all try to get too clever as well, too much to download just to see a page.

And the sad thing is most of these "new and improved" web sites are not really any better just different, and you have to upgrade browsers and re-learn to navigate the menus again (and again....)
