Hi All, I have installed the Startrails program where one can add multiable files and end up with one image.
That is all OK, but when i wish to save that final image it just dose nothing,
am i missing something here, it seems so simple, only creates the image and that is it

could someone please enlighten me.

Thank you

Leon

I don't have it installed on this machine and haven't used it for a while, but from memory it is saving it somewhere, just not where you are looking. It doesn't put it where the source files are. I recall that it kept over writing earlier runs because you have to explicitly tell it where to save the output.

Well Steve you are probably right, but when i click on the save button it has no options highlighted of where to save to.
I thought at least it would say, "where do you want to save this file to," or similar.

Thanks for your response.

Is this a 'Trial' version with crippled save functionality ? Pay $$ and get to keep it ?

Now look what you've done. I've had to go and install it to find out now. :)

It opened a file save dialog if a startrail has been created but not if it hasn't. I don't know if that helps.
It is free but there's a voluntary donate button.

No. It will do any subject. It just plonks each frame on top of the last and picks the brightest pixel to show through. For most things it just makes a mess but since the bright stars move across a dark background it will create a star trail.

My point was that it won't give the opportunity to save a file until you've opened a series of images and done one of the functions in the Build menu. If you click save before then, nothing happens.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Steve, yes I know how to do it, and once i have built the image, so to speak, I click on save and nothing happens, and that is it.
So i expect i have an issue with the program and/or my computer, but the lappy is fine and dose everything i ask of it, so mate i don't know.
Anyway, it is no big deal, just wanted to play around with it.

Thanks for your assistance.
