I've known abou this for quite a while, did it with my old mead mount (used a CD) but not with my new HEQ5-Pro. I cut a small washer from a used plastic milk carton to go between the mount and my tripod. Now when I tignten up all my bolts and come to polar aligning I can make small fine adjustments to the azimuth screws without having to slacken anything off. Butter smooth, didn't cost a cent and one 1 minute of my time.
Now that's very impressive indeed, i can see how that could work.

Great Idea Allan.
Which meade mount did you use the CD on?

Used it on a meade LX50 with wedge, CD placed between the base of the wedge and the tripod. Very smooth and easy Az adjustments for the scope.

This suggestion was also highly recommended for an LX90 when mounted on a wedge.
I new that Frente CD was good for something.

Perhaps midnight oil would be more appropriate?
