Hi all..
Im new here.. Ive been looking and doing everything I can find on the net, etc..
I have a new Sywatcher HEQ5 mount with SynScan latest version..
No matter what I do I cant get it to slew..
In stellarium it says scope connected.
The instructions say that you dont need a third party programe to use IE: ascom platform etc. as it will link direct through hand controller.... Im using a rs32 to usb converter.. its talking to computer on COM9.. Vista 32bit

Im using Stellarium MESA as the other version is very blocky...

I did try to use ascom/stellerium scop and it didnt work? Not to sure how to use ascom any ways..
Can somebody/anybody please help.. I have read all the forums on this site, downloaded and tried everything and nothing works..
ALL the posts seem to be earlier versions that need to use ascom platform.

Gooday Mike,

I've never tried connecting the mount to the PC. But I assume you have told the hand controller to go into PC mode.

When working in PC Direct mode (Section 9.2).

Access the menu “Utility Func. \ PC Direct Mode” and press the ENTER key. The screen will display “PC Direct Mode\Press ESC to exit”.

Press and hold the ESC key more than 1 second to exit PC Direct Mode.

Users can still use the direction keys to move the telescope mount.

Otherwise if Stellarium says the scope is connected I'm stumped.

Regards
Bill

I got it working..
The supplied rs 32 to mount cable was faulty.. Works now.. one thing.. Its not to accurate when slewing.. always a tadd out.. I did a 3 star aligment and the ploar align in the handset,, got it to withing 1 sec...and always a tadd out?
am I doing some thing wrong.. or is the mount faulty?
