I cant get EQMOD to detect my connection to an EQ8 using a USB to RJ45 that worked with my AZEQ6Gt. I understand that I can hard code it somehow - is it simply a case of selecting the appropriate COM port in tool box ? Will it remain ?

You could try and force the comm port.. Im not sure if its a cable thing or what not. MY home made EQ6 Dir cable i need to force the comm port. When i hit the binoculars to auto find it always has a fit and doesnt find it. Yet when i use the shoestring one it finds the comm port automaticly. either way once ive addressed it as long as the commport stays the same all is good.

You could always try and see how you go. easy to bench test laptop and mount head and power.

Thanks Ben - If I select the com port in toolbox thats what is called hard code I guess?
