At Sandy's at the moment she is cursed with only getting C10 on the TV.
I don’t see that much TV but because I get exposed to only C10 when here I have formed some views. For a grizzle I share them with you. What are the folks doing there? I don’t even see their poor programming as an insult to my intelligence (or others) but a reflection on their poor content selection. Amid many other things deserving of complaint I say when an eight year old complains about Simpsons reruns that shows no understanding of the market which finally loses customers and sponsors. It is a demonstration of bad business and I guess that is my frustration. I gather they must pay the rent from Big Brother and Teenage Idol income and no doubt the AFL and not much thought goes past an income to outgoing relationship...er profit
But what got me to open up, as the above has been obvious for a long time ..was a 30 minute info commercial on magnetic blankets Saturday arvo (not that you should be inside but if you are) ... why did I not leave the room or turn it off?... because I could not stop talking to the people presenting the "add" on TV telling them how stupid the product was, I know they cant hear me but I found this exasperating in the extreme.. "We don’t know how it works but it does.. ???" Maybe if it is so powerful one should understand what is going on...but no..Crackpottery in the extreme. I have never felt so motivated to bite or to write to the people who take add complaints for pulp supply...so I guess I got some emotional mileage out of it shouting at the screen to let them know my view. Know how Elvis felt on the days he blew away his TV with his trusty sidearm.
And so I won’t look at 10 for a while in personal protest but is it not sad that by turning your back on the problem it won’t go away for the poor folk who are taken in by this stuff and actually buy it.
And if you are going to tell me your have a magnetic blanket and that it works please make sure you understand how it works so you can explain it to me.

yeah its a strange world we live in alex , but definately not a new fad

for example take chiropracty, concocted by a gold fish salesman in 1895
...his magnetic therapy buisness was struggling a little at the time
(not makeing this bit up ) ..it has flourished over the last 100 years despite always being no more than a well packaged and delivered snake oil. What is a real worry with this is that there are quite a few recorded deaths from manipulations, not to mention high level radiation exposure regarding full spinal x-rays which is a intergral part of "treatment".
We believe and buy what we want to I guess?

take care ns

I guess in reflection what I really disliked is that I have become so old and cranky the positive attitude is finally conceeding the world is not as rosey as I see it:eyepop: . I dont know why I worry really I can look out for me but who looks after those more stupid than me  (and there must be some and if only one still they deserve protection from conmen) Still we are better than we were 500 years ago and getting better hopefully.
Back to the bush and an all nighter under a clear sky is needed I think:) ... sigh
