Leon,
The place to start here is if the computer is having issues or is it the internet.
How is the computer running when not using the internet, opening word/excel/paint/playing solitaire. If this is all good then we need to look maybe at the internet side of things.
Do you delete temporary files?
Have you recently installed any software?
have you done a disk cleanup and defrag?
What operating system are you using?
Are you running a good anti-virus?
Who is your ISP? Are they having any difficulties?
More than happy to help, maybe some more info as listed above may assist.
Cheers,
Andrew.
Thanks Andrew,
No I don,t delete temp Files
No I have not recently installed any software.
No I have not recently done a defrag or clean up, (will do)
I use Windows 8.1
I use Bull Guard anti virus.
My ISP seem to be having no difficulties.
All in all the computer itself is running very well with any other program
no issues anywhere, it is only this issue of not being able to access anything other than a bookmark, very strange.

Leon,
Probably the best place to start is to do the system cleanup, that will allow you to delete temp files and unwanted components.
Another question, did this become apparent after deleting any program?
Make sure that your anti virus is up to date, and also do a full scan with this.
Most of these are worthwhile computer maintenance items.
If none of this works then I would be checking your internet settings with your ISP. Maybe get them on the phone to talk you through the settings, or, if you can, jump on the net and find their settings, it should be on the website somewhere.
See how you go with that.
Cheers,
Andrew.

I had a similar issue and was recommended to delete the browsing history and cookies.
Worked 100% BUT you loose all the login details you may have saved for various sites, so make sure you know the required user name/ passwords!

You didn't state which browser you are using, so specific advice is difficult.
Some general advice to start with..
In your browser, see if you can restart it without any Add-ins (disable all Add-ins). If this lets you go to a website, then enable one Add-in at a time to see if one of the Add-ins is causing your problem.
In Firefox (or PaleMoon) this option is under Help. I don't use IE or Chrome, so I'm not sure where this "disabling Add-ins function" is.
Most browser issues that are not ISP related, are usually Add-ins related.
Hope this helps. If not give us more specific information about your browser.
Jim
You have all been very helpful, thank you indeed.
I have found that if i use my Google bookmark and the tool bar opens i can go anywhere now, it is just that i used to type in where i wanted to go at the top left of the Seamonky Home page when nothing happened.
I will do some maintenance as suggested ans get back to you guys later, thanks again.
