I am having trouble with Fire capture and QHY5L-ii. I have downloaded the latest version of fire capture and QHY5 drivers. The camera work well in Ezy planetary but won't connect up in fire capture, the program seems to have trouble starting.
I tried using the dummy camera mode, which got the program opening, then the sampe image started to moving and shaking on the screen like throwing a fit 😡 the menu is still steady, just the image moves a lot.
Does anyone else have the same issue?
I am running win 7 64 bit.
Thanks
Bo

Nope, not here. I have it running on W7 32 & 64 bit with several webcam variations. ASI 120, SPC900. No instabilty at all, in fact very good.

I did try Firecapture on three computers and it worked on both my 64bit win7 computers but Firecapture didn't even start on my 32bit obs computer.
One computer is my desktop computer and the other is my Dell I7 quadcore laptop.
Have to see what i can do for you coming Friday.

I hereby rescind this post.
Last night FireCapture bombed out multiple times on me. Message was JRE ( Java Runtime Environment ) failure. This was on a 32 bit W7 PC to the ASI 120 camera. (Sorry, I don't have a QHY5L-ii in my repertoire ).

Does this sound similar to your issue ?

I'll update my Java apps and test it out soon and let you know whether it fixes the issue.

Updated Java to 8u40 for 32 bit, rebooted and it seems to have settled down. Waiting for weather to clear and give me a shot at the sky.

Thanks Brent,
Downloaded latest Java (I was having the same issues), but didn't solve my problem
I tried loading via both the Firecapture exe and the Firecapture QHY exe files, both told me a Java SE issue. I can however load via the Firecapture webcam exe file (and recognised QHY WMD), so I may need to update my QHY drivers?

Bo,
I have the QHY5L II mono. I also have Firecapture but really don't use it.
QHY5L II works under AstroArt, PHD2 etc
Doesn't seem to gives problems on the Win7 64 laptop.
