processing help in Star tools

Hello folks, I have sets of images taken weeks apart - of B33 and Alnitak on a Newt. Number one has longer exposures but was slightly cloudy and so Alnitak is blown out, number has shorter exposures with better seeing and Alnitak has nice (my opinion) sharp diffraction spikes and good morphology.
I would like to blend the first with the second but use the star from the second set.
How can I do this in Star Tools?
(I don't have any other software due to broken Hard drive currently)

Hi I have thought of a way in which you heal out the stars in layers then process the later data- heal those stars out, combine the two sets and add back in the later stars but I am conscious I will run into mthe same problem I had before viz ST not accepting two different picture sets because of size disceprancies...

You use the Layers module - it's fairly intuitive, and incredibly powerful.

The way to fix different image sizes is to load them both up in Nebulosity and align them, saving each individual file. Neb is great in that it allows the user to load up different-dimensioned files. I think DSS has a more accurate alignment procedure overall, but it demands identical dimensions. So I use both - getting the file dim right in Neb, then doing the re-alignment in DSS. A little fiddly perhaps, but minor in the grander scheme of things and it really helps, whether you're aiming at HDR combining or simply RGB channels.

that's a good tip Barry thanks. Will try that with my sets then remove one of the star sets ... should be a good evenings work with a G & T to celebrate my birthday!!
