Re-Sizing Jpegs with 'Windows'.

Or Canon PP/Zoom-Browser.
In the best traditions of my tribe BOTH PCs with Photoshop PSE13 are on the blink. PS is the only software I know how to re-size by pixels, in.
I can't remember ever using anything else.
As most sites constrain either by bytes or pixels I'm quite at sea.
Any help much appreciated.

I have not used GIMP recently, but it is a very powerful image manipulation program, similar to Photoshop (which I also have). I would put this on a par for usability and capabilities. But the best part about this one is that it is free. Here is the link http://www.gimp.org/ .

I've used IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/) to batch and easily resize pics in the past.

I email them to myself and get outlook to resize them, dont laugh it works really well.

add an image to an email and click the "File" tab and select "resize images". Select "for Web" and it shrinks the res down to 1024x????. It does a realy good job.

Can u download Irfan view. It's been around for years and is a handy little program at times that I use exactly for this when the image doesn't need the full power, and long start time of a bigger program. It is also under a right mouse click in the Open With menu on Windows. Resizing is straight forward and by pixels or percent, and it does a good job without tearing up you image.
It will also open any RAW file I have ever thrown at it. And it is worth downloading the complete add-on pack and installing that.

Peter, if you have Zoombrowser that will do it for you, probably not as good as PS but it dose work.

Highlight your images in Zoombrowser, on the left panal click on export, than resize to what you like and send them to a file of your choice.

Paint.NET is where it's at, aside from GIMP it's probably the best free replacement for MSPaint on Windows. Very easy to use, handles re-sizing well using a couple of different algorithms and has all the other basic cropping/editing functions.

Head office has vetoed any downloads of non-approved software as it's her laptop and she doesn't "want a load of your dodgy crap" on it.
I will give those 'on-board' resizers a try.

Another Irfanview fan here. Though I had difficulty finding a clean download site to get a newer version that ran on Windows 7, without going through hoops and using their downloaders - which I don't trust.

Renato , the Tocows download site link at irfanview.com doesn't use downloaders, u just download the program. They also don't add anything to the exe. There is an Oz mirror too.
Above is a list of resizers from a site that is clean and reliable that I have used for years to get pc tools when I need them

Prish image resizer is probably the easiest, integrates in to the explorer shell. If you're still running Xp then the windows resizer powertoy works well and also integrates in to the explorer shell.
