Well the old adage of … if it ain’t broken then don’t touch it should apply here ….. but I was fiddling around and did break it.

I’ve been using my QHY8 in Maxim DL 5 for some time via the ASCOM drivers quite successfully, and I fiddled around trying to run it off what I thought was the native QHY8 drivers. Needless to say it stopped connecting.

I googled a lot of things, tried a lot of things and whilst I can now reconnect to the camera, the test images I’m capturing don’t look right. Even simple 1 to 5 sec light captures on my desk to a lit white roof are giving weird results. Sorry I can’t be more specific but I’m not understand what is wrong.

I’ve tried to use the QHYCCD Driver Removal Tool, but that doesn’t appear to work. I see 3 entries come up under the QHY8 heading, but if I select to delete them the drivers don’t get removed.

Not sure what to do next to resolve this problem aside from removing and reinstalling ASCOM and Maxim ….. which I’d rather not do

Any suggestions or tips?

Hi Paul, I've never got the QHY8 to work properly in MAXIM with the ASCOM platform. But I have it running fine with the native drivers in Nebulosity 2 on a Windows 7 64 bit machine.
