Does anyone know the procedure for webcam guiding. I have a Losmandy gm-8 on order, so there is not enough left in the budget for a combined ccd camera/guider. I will be using a DSLR (Canon 350D) plus guidescope or radial guider. I understand that you can autoguide with something like a toucam or celestron neximage, but don't know the details. Can anybody help?

Hi Geoff,
Have you got a Gemini coming with the GM-8? If so you can use it's serial port to control the guiding.
Otherwise you'll need some sort of interface to the GM-8 through the guide port. This is what I do..

Instead of using an LX200 emulator you can use a shoestring parallel port adapter. This also works with K3CCDTools. http://www.store.shoestringastronomy.com/products_gp.htm
Good luck & post any questions.
