I figured being in a dark sky suburb was unlikely but at least my place is in the green zone.

I'm definitely lucky to be close to some very dark sites, it's just finding an appropriate place to set up is the difficult part!

Interesting. I'm in a yellow / green zone but surrounded by orange. Guess that's why my images suck.

Bretti is dark! My area on Lake Macquarie is still resisting the progress of light pollution on the east coast.

Thank you Nathan. Very interesting. Sad to see that the place in the UK where I grew up in the 1970's is very yellow / orange. I used to be able to pick out the stars in Ursa Minor with the naked eye down to about mag 5.5. If I lived there now I would be lucky to see Polaris.
