Anyone have any ideas about a mini-hand controller you could use with EQMod?
I find using the gamepad is like playing space invaders!
I've got a wireless key pad and that works well but to be honest overkill for the movement and speed keys which get used most of the time.
Has any come across something more compact??

Hi Ken, I have been looking into this for a while, very difficult to get but I found a board from Adafruit http://www.adafruit.com/products/731 that should work. I was going to try it but haven't got a lot of time at the moment. I still have to complete my observatory first though.
Anyway it has Joystick capability with 32 button inputs, 6 axis joystick control and a hat button (Whatever that is). I was going to change the layout different from a game-pad to something like a small mixer control board with slider controls instead of joysticks.
Anyway if you can do something with it then by all means go for it. I have to get my priorities right and it will have to wait.

Hi Ken,
One of the guys in our group here in Adelaide has had some success with a simple USB numeric keypad like this:

Thanks guys.
Neil, the Targus keyboard is very similar to the Logitec version I have - something even simpler would be the go.

I have the Logitech version as well. It would be nice to see if it works.
The reason why I haven't thought about the NumPad is that EQMOD controller uses Joystick HID. Maybe something has changed since I last tried. I have a logitech GamePad which works but don't like the feel of it.

Apparently you can use a Wiimote as a game controller on windows over bluetooth (that's the small one handed controller from the Nintendo Wii)
You can also use the XPadder software to map any keys to your gamepad.
Or there's this ;)

Malcolm,
Numeric keypads are supported by EQMod.

Ah yes, I remember this, I thought this thread was more to do with the Game-pad controller that has the highest level of functionality of nearly all of them. I don't like the feel of the PlayStation type controller so I was looking at creating my own.
The Numpad is quite functional though for a lot of common tasks though.

I little "Project Box" 50 x 100mm with arrow keys and a few push buttons would be easy to handle and use....
(Like the ol' Losmandy GM8 paddle)
