Hello ,
I took some raw frames the other night just messing to see if I could use the STARTRAILS software- but apparently it doesn't like C-RAWS.
I am on a Windows 7 machine. Just tried to batch convert in Maxim 5 and all the converted jpegs are blank.
Anyone have any suggestions (cheap ones!?)
Have nebulosity on the machine as well- would that do it?

Use "Batch Conversion" in Nebulosity. First, convert DSLR RAW to FITS. Then convert FITS to JPG. Only two steps. ;)

I've never tried it but this one promises to do the job.

C-RAWS - is that Canon Raws? If so, the Canon Utility, Digital Photo Professional can do batch conversions to TIFs or JPGs. You should be able to get the software from Canon's website.

Looking back at Graham's recent posts, I think he has an STT-8300, so probably not Canon raws.
Maybe it means Compressed RAW?

Ah, well in that case I do all my 60Da batch conversion in Canon's DPP. Quick and easy.

Yes, another huge plus for Digital Photo Professional. Select your images, and hit Ctrl+B/Command+B and away you go.

Have a look at Irfanview. It hasn't given me any problems opening Canon RAW files and it does batch conversions to various output formats with options for high/low quality jpgs etc.
Also download the complete plugins package so you have the latest RAW package for it.
