Hey Ving

Those are mighty fine images for the LPI, you must have taken multi-second exposures to record the colours. How did you get rid of the hot pixels?

Cheers

thanks for the feedback folks :)
theres about 10 x 5 second exposures there, the redhot pixels were disposed of in a humane fashion through psp9 :)

You can subtract a dark frame to take out the hot pixels Ving.

Ving...I am proud of you.

Who would have ever thought the vingster (double star specialist) would turn to the dark side....congrats

The journey of a thousand miles starts with just one step...

Ving... I think I'm on step 3 or 4 (I lost count!) ... where are you? You can't be far away anyway, mate! Good start! Like everyone has mentioned, good colours - nice round stars in the first one!

The good news, Ving, is it's all downhill from here (take that any way you like!!):D

I must confess to never having done dark subtraction:ashamed:, my 20D does it in camera so I don't have to worry. Here's an article explaining how to do it with photoshop (http://www.takegreatpictures.com/HOME/Columns/Digital_Photography/Details/params/object/9503/default.aspx) and a tutorial on K3CCDtools (http://arnholm.org/astro/software/K3CCDTools/tut1/)and dark subtraction.
