Well.... if we are to wait for a better one (anything electronical), we should not buy anything, ever.. we should just wait .. because the moment you buy it, chanses are it will be obsolete tomorrow..... These days only the value of optical systems is stable, because of the nature of the products. If it was good yesterday, it will be good in thousand years :-) (provided it is properly cared for..)

FWIW Hardly Normal have been advertising the Core Dou Toshiba (UNDER $2k FOR the 1.66Ghz model) for at least the last 2 cattledogs.
