Hello all,

I have an annoying problem with the home WIFi network. It all started when I changed the network access pass word in the wireless modem.

When I originally setup the network the computer ( windows 7 ultimate edition) picked up the original modem generated password so when ever I started the computer or it came out of hibernation the computer would join the network.

Now, after I changed the access password, the computer will not remember this new pass word so if the computer goes to sleep it drops out of the network and the only way to join the network is to connect using the new pass word ( in the profile menu) . If I restart the machine I have to enter this new pass word for the computer to join the network.

OK, QUESTION :

Please can a knowledgable chap or chapess please tell me how I can change the network password in the windows 7 box so that the computer remembers this new password permanently.

Many thank you's in advance,

Jeremy.

You need to delete the wifi profile and create a new one

Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Manage Wireless Networks > Delete your wifi profile.

Create a new profile by connecting to it again with a new password.
