Hello there,
I found an old/ancient digital eyepiece for a microscope and I was wondering if anyone has come across one like this and where i could find a driver for it. I guess it is a fairly generic driver as the eyepiece doesn't look very sophisticated. Non of the websites that listed the eyepiece seem to supply any software that goes with it.
Any help with or website for a driver would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and clear skies

Gday Huey

That looks like it puts out a composite video stream
( based on the RCA connector )
and if so, it wont have a driver.
You can feed it directly into the "Video IN" on a TV,
or one of those cheap reversing camera screens
but to see it on a lappie etc
you will normally need a bit of hardware to convert it.

Like Andrew says it appears to have a video output. If you have one of those PC TV cards most of them can accept video in.

However as a tinkerer I would be stripping one of those cheap $6 (?) web cams and assembling the camera chip board inside the eyepiece in lieu of what is there now and use the USB interface included that would surely give a better results than the straight video.

Thanks for your help. I should have mentioned that my eyepiece has a USB connection not the two plugs that you can see in the picture, sorry. So I guess I still need a driver, don't I?

Thanks again for the help and time, much appreciated.

If it has a USB connector, you will need a driver.
When you plug it in, does device mangler detect it at all???
If so, what is the registered vendor and product ID ( VID/PID)
allocated to the unit. That may help find out whos chippies are inside it.

Thanks Andrew and Barry.
I've got it to work!!! I found a driver from Orite - SC120. The eyepiece is not great but does a reasonable job with the microscope. Good to show kids at school what they are supposed to look at.

Thanks again and clear skies
