iTunes and I devices problems , any ideas??

In the last few days I have found it difficult to access the iTunes website and download updates for my iPad and iPhone and even access the app store on either devices (also my PC's are having difficulty getting onto iTunes ). At the beginning I was able to access the app store but all the apps that we're shown we're empty boxes rather than coloured tiles.now the app store just says loading but doesn't get any where , all the other functions except obviously app updates work perfecty (including) my PC's) When I go to my daughters house the iPad and iPhone connect to her wifi and work normally. Both of us are on Telstra wifi but in different suburbs , any ideas? Is this a Telstra problem or perhaps an apple problem. I checked my apple account and I have only two authorized computers so that's not an issue.

That generally happens to me if I have exceeded my download limit on my account, plus the excess limit and Telstra has down graded my access speed. It usually comes back again when the billing period ticks over but occasionally you have to ring them because it seems to get stuck in the slow lane.

I was wondering if Telstra might be at fault , however my Download / upload limit is 200GB so I don't think I've exceeded my limit. Also all the apps and services on the iPad and iPhone are working normally?

Philip, I've noticed a problem with iDevices and smartphones where they lock up the network due to IP address duplication.

The problem usually manifest itself as slow or no wan/LAN access. This may be the problem you are having.

It seems that iDevices in particular a habit of retaining DHCP leases long after the lease has expired (e.g. When the device has left the LAN).

The solution is to statically assign the dhcp address in your router's DHCP table. I've resolved lockup problems at home, work and on one of our customers sites by doing this.

Interestingly, the article says it shouldn't be a problem on home networks, I've found it is, at least in my case. I reserve IP's in the DHCP table for all my known devices on my home network.

That Princeton article is from 2010. iOS has been updated numerous times since then.
I do the static assignment thing too since I haven't got round to replacing the Telstra router acting as DHCP server with a real DHCP server.
How they can say it should not affect home networks is beyond me. If other devices "lock up" and don't report an IP address conflict then they have a badly written IP stack. It doesn't matter where you use them - it's still broken.

Problem solved , but not sure why? I thought after reading the replies and experimenting, that I'd try turning off the router for a few hours . Lo and behold the app store and it's coloured tiles returned and works.
