Hi.
Using the Canon DPP software, I cropped a bunch of scans that I had saved as tiffs. Each time I cropped a section, I then saved that section as a separate tiff. After doing several, I noticed the file size hadn't changed from the original scan. To my surprise, when I open it up in DPP I can revert back to the original shot settings and see the original scan in its entirety.
AND if I open those DPP crops in Irfanview the whole original scan is still there! It's not cropping at all. Just restricting how much of the image I can see within DPP. AND it also uses the original scan to create the thumbnail for the crop.
This strikes me, to put it politely, as daft.
Am I being dumb? Is there some setting I dont know about? Failing that I will have to go through them all again with some other editor. Grrrrr.
Thanks for any help.
