I've been scouring the internet and Ebay looking for a small inexpensive 7mm plossl. All that I can find are big TMBs and an orthoscopic and 7.5mm plossls.

Is there such a thing as a 7mm plossl?

Or is there something unlucky about them, so that no one makes them?
It just seems odd, there are plenty of 5, 6, 8 and 9mm eyepieces, so how come the 7mm doesn't seem to make the cut?
Cheers,
Renato

See http://www.kkohki.com/English/kkohkiparts.html (Scroll down)

University Optics also used to sell these but they seem to be no longer listed.

Not as cheap as a Plossl, but the Explore Scientific 6.7mm is possibly the best of their 82D line.

Sorry. These are Orthoscopics.

$98+postage. I'm sure the HD orthos are very good, but the field of view is a bit narrow.
Darn interesting site though. Thanks.

Thanks, but a tad expensive, I'm just after 7mm to give just over 200X in my 127mm Mak.

Do you have existing eyepieces around 14mm or 21mm that you could Barlow?

But, worth every penny. I'm yet to hear of anyone with buyers remorse after getting a 6.7mm ES

Hi Morton,
Thanks. I could probably get something close to 7mm with one of my Barlows, but I was after something small - something between my 6mm Plossl and 8mm RKE.

I actually have a 14mm eyepiece, but it's a series 4000 Meade Ultrawide which weighs heaps.

Though if I can't find a small 7mm plossl, I may well have to resort to the next smallest thing I have - a 12mm Kong and Meade 1.7X shorty Barlow.
Cheers,
Renato
