I was talking to an astrophotographer that works for the Gemini Observatory and he was explaining how he uses Image Reduction and Analysis Facility (IRAF) to process his images. This got me interested because it doesn't work like the software I use. He was working on a Mac but I work on a Windows machine. Is there any way to install IRAF on windows, because the homepage (http://iraf.noao.edu/) doesn't seem to have Windows support.
Thanks

You could use a Virtual Machine. Install a Linux distribution on the Windows machine then install the software on the VM. Linking between Windows and Linux is possible using Samba.
But information is not that straight forward unless you know what is a virtual Machine :)
It run concurrent Windows with a Linux embedded into the window. System runs slow tough as some memory allocation is taken up by the Virtual Machine.
Oracle create a free VM, and most Linux distributions are free.
