Howdy Pilgrims,
I've no affiliation with this company at all, but I thought their table of TeleVue EPs to use with a Meade Lightbridge 12" Dobsonian was interesting.
It is also interesting to note that they ONLY list out their store-brand and TeleVue EPs, and don't mention the other obvious ones like Pentax XW's etc.

Ah ok, Company 7.
It's for those with more money than brains, their main line is Questars, they'd think you were slumming it buying a Meade.
'Nuff said.

Tele Vue have been an industry standard for many years now and they have often set the benchmark which others have tried to meet including Meade in the '80s.
I think the purpose of the table was to give you an idea of different magnifications with different focal lengths and different eyepiece designs which of course have different apparent fields of view. Tele Vue have just about every focal length and apparent field of view covered and are well known in the industry.
Tele Vue also publish field stop diameters (to calculate true field) for all eyepieces which is not the case with some other companies.

You might find this point of view informative, where picking eyepieces is concerned:

There are a lot of nice eyepieces out there, but you really can't go wrong with a TeleVue.
