Can you help to save a crippled mouse??

My wireless mouse seems to have lost one of the 5mm Teflon (?) diameter "foot pads" and is a PITA to use....
Yes, I know for $15 I can buy a new one...but being a good Presbyterian Scot, it seems such a waste -just for the want of a small disc of Teflon.....

Hmmm. I'd say find someone's broken mouse (sometimes, computer shops have a "swap" bin where you can get anything for $2 or so) and take a teflon foot off that one, or maybe replace all four if they're a different size.

Alternatively, shave a sliver from the edge of a teflon chopping board ..... just a thought.

Aye, Scottish Protestant here myself. And you know what that means? More guilt than Catholics! (At least they can buy their way out with a few Hail Marys, but we carry that guilt forever).

just stick it back on with some Selleys magic tape - works for my 8 year old Logitech mouse at work

...or a large hole punch and an empty milk bottle + a drop of superglue.

David,
The foot pad is long gone.....need a replacement.....
Al,
Thought of that (and variations) but the material is too thin....

Put the punch through the lid instead:shrug: or maybe through a bit of plastic icecream container - that way you get to enjoy the icecream too;).

maybe get some of the thicker double sided tape and make a pad - but stick it on without taking off the smooth backing tape. GSO use this for mounting pads for the mirrors in their Dobs and it stands up to a heavy mirror sliding around on it - the mouse might come to a screeching halt if the smooth backing ever falls of though...

Don't be such a "Tight Scot", I accidentally ran over my own dog. He lost half a foot & that cost over $2000. You have any idea what astronomical wonders I could have bought with that money....
