Hi all,
I just downloaded stellarium and set my location and time. When I am scrolling through the time, it gets light at 5pm so it obviously has am and pm mixed up. how can I fix this?

Seems a bit weird. Is your computer's time set correctly? Do you sync it off internet time servers?

My problem with Stellarium is that the Android app doesn't work on Android 4.1 Galaxy Note 2. You have to scroll manually, it doesn't tell you what the phone is pointing at any more.
Though the maker has said he will try get a Note to work out where the problem lies and fix it.
Have reverted to Skyeye.

Taking your IIS "Location" as gospel:
Ensure your computer clock is set correctly AND have the correct timezone - that's "(UTC+10:00) Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney" in recent versions of Windoze. I would guess your clock is 12 hours off. Setting the clock from a GPS or an internet NTP server will sort that
You have used the <F6> location setup to make Lismore your default location?
Look in the setup to see what time offset Stellarium is configured.
<F2>->Plugins->Time Zone->configure
System default is a good choice.
When you make config changes you MUST do <F2>->Main->Save Settings otherwise when you stop/start everything switches back to how it was when you started Stellarium.

I'm having the same problem as Jas. I've got Stellarium set with the same time as my computer (12:17pm) but for some reason it's showing the sky as night time. If I change the time settings to am it's daylight. I'm not sure what's going on and have no idea how to fix it.
Also, as I mentioned in a different thread, the labels are all cut in half horizontally and only showing the top half. I know what they say, but it's really annoying.

Hello Billi,
I fixed the text and labels breaking apart, by doing the following -
Press the Start button, Press All Programs, goto Stellarium and double click on config.ini.
Find the "[main]" section and add the following line below it:
use_qpaintenginegl2 = false
Then save the file and Stellarium should restart OK
Did on mine anyway.
Regards
Bill

Thanks for the tip Bill :) I had someone on a different thread help me out with it, so now everything is crystal clear.

I took the attatched image for example. The time says that it's 6:33pm, but the sun is positioned for midday. Is this normal?

If you look at your own screen shot you will see in the bottom right hand corner that stellarium is set to UTC-7 hours.
In Sydney we are UTC +10 hours (actually +11 hours now it is daylight saving).
You need to change the settings for you local time zone.

That makes sense. I couldn't work out what my UTC is and Google wasn't much help either. I'll have a fiddle with the settings and see what happens.

BUMP
I'm still having issues with the timezone. It's now stuck on UTC +1:00 instead of -7:00, even though I entered the correct zone (according to google).
I would really like to use Stellarium, but it's starting to get a bit ridiculous. What am I doing wrong???
:confused2:
Hiya. Sth Au is +10.5 until end of dst. Or, 30 mins behind NSW/Vic.
In Stellarium go to configuration/navigation & check the startup date & time is set to **system date & time**. Assuming your computer is set to correct time then you should be ok.
