Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to everyone who took part in the competition. It was a great way to celebrate a great milestone. To show much growth there's been, we're already over 1120 users and we just finished the thousand member competition! :)
Thanks as always to the sponsors of the IIS1K competition:
Australian Sky&Telescope (http://www.astmag.com.au), VSO Software (http://www.vso-software.fr/), SkyLab Astronomy Software (http://www.skylab.com.au), Southern Astro Remote Imaging (http://www.southern-astro.com.au/php/services/remote-imaging.php), and Stellar Seats (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/member.php?u=50).
Without their generous donation of prizes, this competition wouldn't be taking place!
I'll be in touch with the winners via PM, so please make sure you respond to me with your postal address so I can arrange to get the prizes sent to you.
Thanks again
Below are 2 photos from the draw. I finally got some to use, after RB insisted on taking out of focus shots, and then some more without using the flash :P
Next time i'll be sure to put the camera on full auto for him :D

Congratulations to the winners, lucky buggers :), and thanks to the generous sponsors. It's great to see amateur astronomy so strongly supported by astronomy businesses.
Is it my imagination or is the Iceman starting to get that notorious "Port Glaze" look

"port glaze" hmmm... never noticed that look from the "outside"
I'd say congratulations to the winners, but I'm too bitter and twisted:P

Congratulations to the prize winners, do they get titles as well from Iceinspace U ?
Well with that out of the way you can get to work on the TV show.. And maybe approach Toohey's or Carlton breweries to become major sponsors, that could fit the dream.
Thanks very much to the sponsors and maybe we could all ask ourselves if we can use their products, I know they will see my astronomy dollars before any of the competition, and their name will be on my lips if I am asked a "what to buy" question.
And to Mike and his support team.. congratulations for thinking up the promotion and a perfect exectution of the plan.
May all your skies be clear and dark.

If I remember rightly Cahullian also won the telrad at Snake Valley.
Is this what they call the luck of the Irish ?
it seems that the power of positive thought has deserted me agian... time for a bit of reverse psychology!
I am not going to win the next one!
Mwahahaha!!! ;)

Not entirely RBs fault, Mike forgot to switch from Manual focus to Auto before passing over the camera.
Then for the second attempt the flash was not activated.
Third time lucky.

:D :D :eyepop: :eyepop:
Mike is much appreciated. Apologise for not responding earlier, but wife had been away with the grandkids and had to pick them all up at the airport last night.
Thanks firstly to yourself for getting the forum up and going and to your continual perserverance on coming up with new ideas etc to keep us all on track.
Thanks to all the sponsors. I have checked out Southern Astro's website on numerous occasions and thought this is a good idea I must get around to using this sometime, but put it in the I'll get around to it sometime". Guess its going to happen sooner than later. Thanks Brad.
To the other Sponsors. Ill definately get a lot of use out of the VSO software and to AS&T I buy your magazines religously. Thanks very much. The Stella Seat would have been very useful. Star Atlas Pro. Fortunately I already have a copy and consider it to be amongst my most used programs. Boy you guys produce some very fine images.
To all those that entered and did not win, commiserations. I look forward to these comps normally as a challenge, and spend the whole month seeking out the answers. I have to come clean on this instance and say it got down to the final few hours and I had been slack and got off a combination of my best guess and what I had googled (approx 20% of the answers) and random number picking. (last comp I got 100%)
Andrew (Astroman) Thanks for letting me know. I will keep you informed!
Once again thanks to everyone
