Does anyone in the group use this program ? Is it any good for deep sky photos. Im told the current commercial version will additively stack photos to mimick longer exposures. Is this correct . Is it easy to use?

I looked at it briefly, on account of me having a Mac, but I bit the bullet and bought another PC, specifically for imaging and processing, as most if not all software seems to be slanted to the PC.
The download version I tried didn't accept an AVI either from memory.
While I haven't tried it, I believe Registax will align/stack your DSO images. Also consider trying MaxDSLR, it will align/stack. Ditto with IRIS.

I haven't tried Astrostack, but there one called imagestacker you could try. It is freeware and has a number of stacking option including additive. I had pretty good success for quick stack to get ideas of how a session will turn out.
