Hi all,
I am trying to add some darks to my image using the open dark file button. But when I try to register and stack everything together I get an error saying "The checked pictures are not compatible (width height number of colours number of channels only one master dark offset and flat)
what am I doing wrong?

:) You will have to use DSS 3.3.3 Beta 51 instead.

Hi,
Are you saving your darks in the same format as your light frames?
Also, if you are using a DSLR, the image may be at a different orientation to your darks, make sure you rotate your frames to match before attempting DSS.
Cheers,
Justin.

You camera doesn't have to be rotated or anything for darks. I take mine once i remove the camera from the scope. Leaving the camera to keep shooting until the next day.
The problem he's having is because his camera isn't recognised by the current version of DSS.
The Beta solves this.

If this is the case wouldn't it have issues with the lights as well?

No, I'm not sure why it gives this message with the darks.
I experimented just the other day, tried using the DSS 3.3.2 with my 1100D and it came up with the same error message.
The reason I tried was because the Beta had become unstable. A complete uninstall and a fresh download solved the Beta problem. :)

Yes that's true.
What camera are you using?
With my DSLR Canon 1100D, the camera will rotate the image so that it always appears upright in terrestrial photo's.
If this feature is still on when astro imaging it will change the orientation of the image too.
That's why I said you need to check the orientation of the frames so they are all the same and are all saved in the same format, tiff for example.
Cheers,
Justin.

It's an SBIG ST-8300C (https://www.sbig.com/products/cameras/stf-series/stf/stf-8300c/). I'll give the beta download a try.
Getting the same message with the beta.
