Annoying Pop Up

Hi guys,

I have just purchased a new Toshiba Laptop running Windows 8.

I seem to have this really annoying pop up that keeps coming up about a USB Hard drive backup that Toshiba offers.

I have turned off all pop ups in the internet options but this seems to be something else.

Really annoying!!!

Does anyone know how to turn this darn thing off???

John, not sure if it is in Windows 8, but I see no reason why it would not be. From search, type in msconfig. You should see a screen come up with various options, one of which is startup, it shows all the bits an pieces that load on startup and you can uncheck stuff you do not want to start up. I reckon you might find the culprit ticked there. At least it is the first place I would look.:thumbsup:

Glad to hear it John, I have had similar problems and tried this, chased down the culprit and stopped it in the startup, a handy trick.

Go into the control panel, and uninstall all the bloat ware that comes with laptops. It's the best way to ensure you aren't being spied on. ATM you can pretty much bet you are.
