Anyone using any ProStar hardware ?
I'm looking at their 2" Moon & SkyGlow Filter to try and get rid of my local LP problem. AstroShop is carrying them at quite reasonable prices compared to other brands out there. I can get it to NZ for about $100 after exchange and postage but don't want to waste my time if they are not up to scratch.
I have a 1.25" Astronomik CLS which is excellent but vignettes badly on the DSLR so looking at options.
Yes, I am enquirng about Dans 2" CLS in the for sale area as well but it's often easier to deal with credit card to retailers than get money across the ditch with all the bank charges and fees, exchange rate etc.
Just looking at options.

Cheers all

Yep I have a number of Steves items - mostly these are rebranded from others and good quality. I have no hesitation in buying from a practicing amateur astronomer/imager.

I had first light tonight with my new ProStar 2" UHC-S Broadband filter.
It worked a treat. The quality of the filter was very good.

I've been wondering about the Prostar stuff too.

What sort of colour shift does the uhc-s have JJJ ? The CLS has a strong blue shift which can be a challenge to process out at times.

Here's jpeg comparisons.
Both the UHC and Ha images have the exact same settings. If it's clear tonight I'll take one with no filter using the same settings.
I've just added a pic, 3min ISO1600, no filter, using the 550D.

Hmm, another option I hadn't spotted. Thanks for the feedback all, looking promising. Possibly a better option than the CLS with it's blue cast for my purposes.
