I havent tried this yet but i stumbled across it while researching what to do for meteor impact monitoring on the moon

http://www.lunarimpacts.com/nudger.htm

"an application that can be used to auto-guide an ASCOM driven telescope, by tracking brighter objects on the earth-shine illuminated shadowed surface of the moon. It removes the need to constantly make pointing adjustments using the hand controller.

It is call it "Nudger, The Lunar Auto-Guider" because it nudges the telescope ever so slightly when needed to maintain accurate pointing. It is intended to be used by individuals or groups that monitor the moon for meteoroid impacts.

yeah my trouble is that i am not driving the scope with ascom - gemini.net.

i might remove the titan50 from the observatory and install the EQ8 so i can run eqmod

I thought the gemini.net stuff provided an ascom driver? I'm pretty sure that's what i use. I just install it on whatever machine I want, then setup the gemini ethernet details appropriately. Hooks into BYEOS, PHD, Stellarium Scope, Astrotortilla, etc.

i use PHD to guide - not the pulse guide like eqmod. or am i misunderstanding a few things?

Are you going through a GP-USB?

yes Marc

Might be why. I think the the Gemini.net driver and ASCOM kicks in when you connect via a USB to serial directly into the RS-232 port. The GP-USB goes into the other port (auto-guider port).

I'm using Gemini 1.04. The old box too. I have two connections. One with GP-USB and one direct to RS-232. I still have the pinout for the cable if you want it.

Ah, ok, I see. I'm on G2.

Back on topic: I will have to try this sometime - it looks cool.
