That's nice.
My local MSY have the 29 inch Phillips for $516 the AOC for $549 and Hervey Norman the LG for around $660.
Did you compare any to your LG?

Looks very nice -
1. are you happy with it - or what if any dissappointments have you experienced?
2. where did you purchase it from?
3. could you share the price and warranty details? and is this a special or their current retail offdering
Many thanks,
Matthew

Cinerama!
I upgraded to one of the 27" WHQL IPS panels 2560 x 1440 for my video and photo work and love the extra real estate. Really great to have a full 1080P edit window and still have plenty of space on the desktop for all the tools.
Nice cockpit view, now you need to run another one on top of it to see out the window!
I've seen that LG model around for about $680. Interesting form factor, it is a shame movies aren't mastered in that resolution.

The Dell 29" version is $529 which seems a good deal. Same panel as the LG apparently, and has a USB3 hub built in.

The only thing with all of these monitors is they are kind of smaller than you would expect, the 29" is a diagonal measurement so the actual screen size is about 28cm high, which is less than a 19" 4:3 monitor.
Of course, the screen area is about 67cm long, which is l-o-v-e-l-y.

Ha! I've got that on my 15" laptop, with 16:10 aspect screen ;)
Cheers

Yeah, but I have the capture system displaying on my laptop, and the edit system on the external screen, so I need two screens.
I thought about upgrading to the retina laptops from my older mbp but I also need the 2x480GB SSD drives in my lappie, so it wasn't an option for me.

What graphics card are you driving it with?

Wow neat screen for horizontal productivity, could use one at work when working with waveforms.
how is your gfx card coping? my gtx680 struggles a bit at 2560x1600
FlashDrive

What...:eyepop:....why should it be struggling
I'm running a Geforce GTX 560Ti 1Gb GDDR5 Ram .....have Monitor at native res'....2560 x 1080
This Card is quite good.....no where near the ' latest and greatest ' on the market....but it's still a ' gusty ' Card.
Been playing Crysis 3 and FarCry 3 at Ultra High and High Settings ( Games detected my Card and set the ' video settings and values ' automatically.... at Ultra High and other settings at High.... I didn't touch any of the settings myself....I just let the ' Games ' do the default Graphic setup.....Games are running smooth....no ' jittering ' or ' stuttering ' of the game play.
Probably what is also helping here....Games are being played from a SSD Drive.

Well 2560x1600 is twice the pixels of a regular 1080p screen. I find the fps not smooth enough at high settings, maybe it runs out of gpu memory idk.
How is the viewing angles on this LG screen anyway?
FlashDrive

Viewing angle....very good ...you can be well left or right of the screen and still no ' shadows ' or drop out of the picture or videos your watching.
