To be honest, we need the rain and it is there is lots of moon anyway. :D
Enjoy the new toy.

Works both ways! - the recent run of clear/dry nights was because I had to send my CCD off for repair/replacement....

Nice job David  i ordered mine a while back and I emailed my retailer last week who mentioned that it will be here "soon after May 20" I'm taking that to mean any minute!:)

Looks like more rain ahead!

Congratulations on your purchase. Will you put the Titan up for sale as its replacement, or are they going to run in tandem? Bigger observatory? :P

I need some rain out my way.

Water tank is down to 30% and the dam is starting to look like a puddle.

RTFM - the link to the manual was posted on IIS somewhere which was great (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=107111&highlight=eq8+manual)

Thanks mate.... I still have my DSI II on hand, just doesn't play with my current imaging software, going to service the mount, and hope my working CC is back soon.... :)

you're probably right there! i'd be more inclined to take the later date rather than the earlier - as you say only been 3 years!

Either way, i'm hoping to grab it before the queens b'day long w'end. the moon is looking good, hopefully clear skies complement it.

if it all falls into place i'll be road tripping up to Burra, near H's territory and get me some darker skies :)

You are going to need Mike Sidonio to carry that for you!

Cripes, I didn't think they were that heavy.

Hi David.

Where do you get your satellite photos from? I tried going to the website in the photo however the site seems offline or inaccessible.

Thank you.

Thanks David.

Yea I tried bom.gov.au however those are "processed" images and I am looking for almost raw ones ;)

Thank you soo much once again :thanx:

BTW do you have any website (apart from http://www.skippysky.com.au/Australia/ ) that might help me make a better judgement of the weather to come in the next few hours? Would be nice to know a few hours ahead of what the seeing would be like (though I know the Sky Gods are easily angered with the many purchased people make :D )

Thank you once again

Cheers David

The EQ8 was worth 4.7mm of rain overnight.

Only about 0.5% of water added to the tank though, you couldn't buy a few more large items could you. :D

I added to the weather - a VC200L and an R200SS.

QLD is doomed.

I think I added to the weather problems down here-A Lunt 60mm and an Atik 314L

Would love to hear your thoughts on the Lunt 60 Laurie. I have been thinking about picking one up whilst in the states, along with a solar filter for my FLT110. I have signed up for the solar workshop at Stellafane this year, so that should be interesting. Up until now, I haven't really done any solar work, thought it might be about time. :)

Cheers Peter

With my ankle problem, it will be several months before I can use it, unfortunately, Peter.:(

Sorry to hear that Laurie. Hope all is well again soon. I do know how you feel, only too bloody well. It sucks.

Cheers Peter
